History: Sodalite was first described in 1811 and is considered a semi-precious stone. It is quite rare in nature, as it is extracted from alkaline volcanic rocks. Only a few countries extract it: Russia, Brazil, Canada, Portugal, Germany, Italy, India, Romania, the United States, and Norway.
